Identifying a Duke Energy Employee
A Duke Energy employee may contact you regarding
a meter reading or other service. When the service
person arrives at your home or office, ask to see
his/her Duke Energy employee identification card.
An authentic Duke Energy card shows the company name
and logo, a color employee photo, the employee's
name on the front and, on the reverse, an address
to mail the card if lost.
In some instances, Duke Energy contracts with
agencies for specific services. In these cases,
the individual has an identification card that
clearly indicates that he or she is under contract
with Duke Energy.
If you have any questions about the person's
identity, do NOT let him/her into your home.
Call your local Duke Energy office to verify
that the person has a legitimate reason to be
at your residence. You should always call for
verification if you did not ask to have a
representative visit you.
